Versailles didn't get shown. I can't stop crying right now. I wanted so badly to see their first comeback performance. We couldn't even see it. To even try and share this moment with them. It was like hope was dangled in your face, then snatched away. Damn it not being able to even afford a plane ticket to Japan........

Managed to get my hands on a program that can record steaming video. After many test records, it works on the V-Rock fest stream. Now I just hope my internet doesn't cut out like it's been doing randomly for the last few weeks and that Versailles actaully gets shown.

I've been wanting to make a shirt that says 'J-rock' on the front, and on the back put 'Real men wear makeup'. I don't know why I want to make this shirt so bad....

I've never heard about this till someone was talking about this today.

Beat to death for dressing how you want, because the people didn't like that you didn't look like everyone else. What the hell is going on with the world. People are becoming more and more violent, doing things for all sorts of reasons. It's a scary time to live in, especially if you're a woman. Maybe everyone and everything do need to destroyed and have everything start anew....

My favorite talk radio show 'Big O and Dukes' is now off the air. The station is doing a format change to sports only. They really were hilarious to listen too....I had been a fan since 06'. I'll miss being able to hear them.

Sad video of their last event as a duo:

What exactly is considered normal clothing? Every thing that every other girl wears? Making sure to not stand out and blend into the crowd? Why is my mom still so pissy over me wearing lolita just because I don't look like everyone else........

We lost a major icon yesterday. I still can't believe he's gone....... There will never be another performer like him again.
He was so amazing the way he could put on a show and create such great music and dance moves.
I've loved his music since I was a tiny elementary school girl and had wished I was old enough to have gone to his concerts back in the 90's.

Goodbye Michael

I just found out that the guy I've developed feelings for at work has a kid -_- ............Kids are pretty much a deal breaker for me since I literally can NOT stand children and when I care about a guy, I put our relationship first and expect that back. This is pretty much almost impossible when dating men with children since you'll always be second in line because of the kid. I'm to young to have to deal with someone else's kid and a compromised relationship.
I wish I had found out before I fell for him. It sucks to like him, see him almost everyday, and know that you can do nothing about taking it further....

This article explains it best as to why childless girls in their 20s should never date a man with children:

My Versailles shirt came in yesterday!
I wore it to work and some people said they thought it was a cute shirt and liked that it doesn't fit and look like a typical T-shirt (^o^) It really is cute.

*Edited now with pics. Please excuse the mess in the back and the crappiness of my webcam.*

*start rant*

As if getting a working Visa didn't end up stressing me out enough, I took some time to re-visit an old site I first came upon a few years ago:

http://www.debito.org/

but most importantly, this section of his site:

http://www.debito.org/activistspage.html

I've spent the last three days spending hours reading the articles on that page and articles in the links as well. It's mainly about past (and current) issues and events that have happened in Japan involving discrimination against non-Japanese. I knew this stuff happened there (it happens everywhere), but not to this degree.

What I did not know is that despite signing the United Nations' International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in 1995, Japan still has no laws making racism illegal there (stating that that 'its legal system provides adequate protection against and redress for racial discrimination, therefore a specific law against it is unnecessary'), has no plans to create any, and still barely does anything to public businesses practicing racism by refusing entry to anyone who looks foreign (the man that runs the site is a naturalized Japanese citizen who still get refused entry based off race since he's technically a 'Japanese citizen'), not really even against those that have the "Japanese Only" signs still up without constant push from the foreigner who is complaining about it.
Since there is still no laws about this despite every other country in the United Nations having racism laws in place, there's not much those you complain to can do besides ask the place to take the sign down, stop excluding people, and hope they comply.
I didn't know just how many places in Japan (apparently around 12 cities in Japan including major cities) have multiple places with signs up to bar entry from gaijins.

I'm now reading this:

http://www.debito.org/japantimes010405.html

Seems even rich business people are subject to this crap. I'm not sure I want to move there at all anymore. I don't want to deal with that. I'm scared to even attempt to live there right now.
And I'm African American, so I wonder if it would be even worse for me (my friend says she now worries for me over there as well). A common occurrence with blacks over there I keep hearing about is how no one wants to sit anywhere near us on the subway trains despite it being crowded.

And then there's the whole Gaijin Card issue (-_-).....

*end rant*

I've been wanting to live in Japan for awhile now and finally got around to some in depth research about how to go about that. I already know about English teaching, but I have NO interest in teaching people anything (in addition I'm bad at explaining things).

So, since I don't know the language that well, I decided to go to a language school in Japan since there's nothing like that where I live and I can try and find work while there. The only thing is, you can't work with a student Visa. To even part time work you have to put in for it and be screened and approved to do so (with restrictions on how much you can work and where you can work).
I have student loans I'm paying back and that in itself is making future planning of this harder since I really have to make an income there.

I don't want to give up on living there, but I'm realizing that unless I do English teaching (I'd rather get a root canal), I'm shit out of luck. Why does that country make it so damn hard to live there and get a job. They really don't like foreigners a bit more than I thought......reality checks are hard......

.......If I could go back in time I would have gotten a degree in Japanese Language Studies. It would have been sooooo much easier to do all this if I did that.

After buying a new labtop + warranty I'm pretty much broke.....but the positive is that the Versailles short sleeve shirts have been restocked (^o^) I think I'd rather have the shirt than order multiple copies of the new single *hopes all video parts and CDJapan trading cards will get uploaded*.
I'm ordering with Muku this time since he's faster at responding to emails. Good thing the refund from phantasmagoria is still in my Paypal.

My labtop of 4 years is now unusable. The video card is almost dead and I need a new labtop. I'm on my dads' labtop right now looking for some cheap decent new ones.
It was working pretty fine before I left for work, then I came home to this.
I feel like I lost a friend and I'm not looking forward to re-downloading everything that was on my old one.....

I just got the Versailles DVDs on CDJapan. The total conversion on their site: $125, the total for PayPal and their conversion: $130...WTF!...Don't you just love that site.....

On another note I got the B version CD. My frame of thinking figures that the middle of the video should be on that and I won't have an opening scene or an ending scene with no people in it taking up the 5 minutes. I needed full Versailles since I could only get one.
